Update on Plant Closing
We reported below that the L.A. Times is closing its Orange County plant but their spin was that they would do a new late news supplement out of the main plant. But Sharon Waxman at The Wrap now reports that 1) the move is being done so the Times prints the Wall Street Journal out of that plant and 2) the regular news deadlines will be shifted to 6 pm from 11 and midnight, with the supplement trying to make up for that.

sad indeed. let's not worry about our core readers and give the late deadline to the competition. that way we can continue to reduce our coverage in an even more meaningful way.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is great story, too bad it isn't true. If anyone reported on this and checked the facts you could publish an actual, real story. Granted, not as much fun and harder to be snarky.
