Curley: An Open and Shut Case
Associated Press CEO Tom Curley today cheered FOIA and open records laws and described in detail how AP, and one staff attorney in particular, have used them to help break news. Text of speech today before the Kentucky Press Association is here.

Greg Mitchell was editor of Editor & Publisher from early 2002 to December 2009, and the author of 10 books. Joe Strupp was staff writer and senior editor at the magazine even longer, and broke hundreds of important stories on its Web site.
