The Daily Show host has finally had enough. You, sir! Gets to model a bunch of glasses, though. UPDATE: Olbermann responds via TVNewser: "It was a little bit of a ripoff of the Affleck thing, but overall, I'd give it a B-."....

Jon rather nailed it, didn't he? Enough with the name calling - that accomplishes nothing constructive. I understand the desire for a bare-knuckle, kneecapping, Vulcan death grip political discourse - but really. . .does that accomplish anything? Have all of the adults left the building?
ReplyDeleteHey, even Stewart has his bad days. Maybe Olberman went a little over the top. And I do mean "a little". Maybe. He's certainly a strong enough figure to make for simple lampooning. All that said, Malkin is a freak and Olberman was mostly right. I think Stewart missed the mark a bit. And, once again, the whole lampooning thing, when used against those in power is a strong tactic. When used against someone who champions those not in power, not so much.
ReplyDeleteBravo to Olberman for calling a spade a spade! make fun of somebody else, just like on your show, sometimes it's very gratifying to hear your newsperson say exactly what one's thinking - and the media at large has done nothing but kiss ass of this fellow all week...

As a long time Olberman fan - I laughed. The bit with the glasses is hysterical. And heck ya, Keith goes overboard sometimes. Doesn't take away from his larger point of properly challenging those in power. We all have stuff we do that someone else can make a comedy bit out of eh?
