A Colorado man, as we've said, consulted an app on his iPhone for medical advice while he was trapped for nearly three days in the rubble of a Port-au-Prince hotel.
Now, USA TODAY photographer Jack Gruber writes with wonder on his Facebook page that he "can't believe the light from his iPhone helped deliver a baby in the totally dark outside triage area of Port-au-Prince General Hospital last night."

That's a great story, Greg. Was just thinking the other day that the Compass feature on my iPhone needs a cut and paste feature so one can easily IM, email or Tweet one's exact location; additionally, or in conjunction with above idea, the iPhone or Smartphones should have a "ping" feature that could be picked up by a nearby smartphone and then used to pinpoint a location. It seems that could save a lot of lives in disasters such as the one in Haiti, and the "big one" here in California that's bound to happen!
