Google News Expands--But Axes AP?
Story in The Guardian today discusses Google adding two new features to its News site -- but claiming it has not featured AP stories there since December 24 as "negotiations" continue.
OK by me, Greg. It isn't like we can expect objectivity from AP. They've been in the GOPer tank for quite awhile, a situation that the elevation of Ron Fournier to chief of their Washington Bureau (or any other position above janitor) has only exacerbated.
Greg Mitchell was editor of Editor & Publisher from early 2002 to December 2009, and the author of 10 books. Joe Strupp was staff writer and senior editor at the magazine even longer, and broke hundreds of important stories on its Web site.
