Survey: Readers Not Ready to Pay For Web Newspapers

A poll by E&P's former sister publication, Adweek, states that readers for the most part will not pay for newspaper content online.

The poll, posted today on the Adweek Web site, notes that 77% said they would not pay for online newspaper information. Nineteen percent said they'd pay $1 to $10 per month, and 4% said they'd pay $11 to $20. One percent said they'd be willing to pay more than $20 per month for the content.

But the survey found readers still like the print version, with 43% of respondents saying they read a paper daily, either in print or online. --Joe Strupp
