Heavy Traffic: Huff Post Surges Past Most Top Newspaper Sites

Latest ComScore numbers for December find the Arianna blog (or "Internet Newspaper" as it bills itself) more than doubling its traffic from December 2008 to Decmember 2009, up to nearly 10 million. One factor: Tiger coverage, but there was no big election news, a longtime driver at the site.

    Comscore needs to audit the HP numbers and correct the count by at least half. Most HP commenters are repeat/redundant "chatterers," who post multiple times on same comment/ per day; and dominate, re-direct, and hijack topics
    (noticeable on most'high count' comment threads).
